Biographical note: Rancher; John Slaughter served two terms as Cochise County Sheriff beginning in 1887, served a term in the Arizona Legislature in 1906, helped to develop the town of Douglas, Arizona, and was a stockholder in the Bank of Douglas. In 1883, John Slaughter purchased about 40,000 acres of the San Bernadino Land Grant in southeastern Arizona on the Mexican border. Physician; born in 1876 in California, Bledsoe moved to Bisbee, Arizona in 1904 and worked as company physician for the Calumet Mining Co. He was activ in the Masons, Elks and scouting.
